Uno Bench

A single-unit bench designed for all as a decorative, multi-purpose bench. Made using bridal joints and glue.
Problem
Most furniture commits to a single purpose. A bench is a bench, a side table is a side table, and neither tucks away gracefully when the room needs to breathe.
Insight
The most useful pieces in a home are the ones that earn their place across multiple moments, from a quiet Tuesday to a dinner party. Versatility and elegance are rarely designed together.
Intent
A form that is decorative enough to leave out and functional enough to rely on, moving between bench, table, and side surface without announcing itself as any one of them. A ground-level shelf offers a place for books or objects, adding utility without disrupting the silhouette. Bridal joints and glue keep the construction clean and simple.
Solution
A single-unit bench resolved through prototyping to a final production piece, equally at home tucked against a wall or pulled to the center of a room.
